Grade Five Dance Lesson: Swing with Follow-Along Videos

This lesson is Day 6 of 8 in our Grade 5 Dance Curriculum!

  • A uniquely curated lesson plan following the Ontario Arts Curriculum guidelines with a movement activity to elaborate on terms, concepts, and ideas. 

  • This lesson gives clear directions and descriptions on 

    • how much time the activity should take including; introduction, warm up, activity, cool down and discussion questions

    • materials needed to execute the lesson

    • Lesson goals and focus for the day

    • The learning objectives and connections from the Art Curriculum that will be covered throughout the activity 

  • This lesson also includes a worksheet to be completed after the lesson to help students comprehend the lesson of the day, and can be used as extra grading materials if needed

  • You will receive access to private links to video tutorials for your students final evaluation project. A full choreographed routine for your students to follow along to, add their own creativity and perform for their peers as their final assignment. 

  • Step by step breakdown of individual figures from the historical dance chosen for your grade, that are building blocks for your final performance
